While you are in Buenos Aires

Ministro Pistarini International Airport

  • Ministro Pistarini International Airport, commonly known as Ezeiza International Airport, is located in the city of Ezeiza, around 30km from the centre of Buenos Aires.
It is a direct entry point for long-haul international flights to Argentina, and has the largest and most modern air terminal in Argentina. It is also classed as one of the best airports in Latin America.
Ezeiza International Airport is also the international operating base for the airline Aerolíneas Argentinas.
The airport was inaugurated in 1949, is used by a large number of airlines for their operations, and serves destinations virtually everywhere on the planet.
The airport has the capacity to handle 13 million passengers and conduct 90,000 aircraft operations per year. The airport runs flights to 13 national destinations and 45 international destinations on four continents.
  • It is operated by the company Aeropuertos Argentina 2000. Information on the airport is provided on the Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 website at: http://www.aa2000.com.ar/ezeiza.
  • For general enquiries, please contact: Telephone: (+54 11) 5480 6111 (Line open 24 hours) Email: atencionalcliente@aa2000.com.ar
  • Information on the airlines operating from Ministro Pistarini International Airport is contained in Annex 1.

Arrival

  • Upon arrival at Ministro Pistarini International Airport, Ministers and Heads of Delegation, and other delegation members and MC11 participants will receive special assistance when completing immigration, customs and other procedures established under the Argentine legislation in force for passengers arriving in the country. More details on this subject will be provided in due course.
Further information on the health requirements for entering the country is contained in the Information Note circulated as WT/MIN(17)/INF/3.
  • After completing the relevant immigration procedures, non-VIP guests will be directed by airport sta“ to the baggage hall. Special access lanes will be reserved for Conference participants.
  • Luggage trollies are available to passengers free of charge in the baggage hall, where passengers may also enquire about lost luggage.
  • Participants can exchange currency near the arrivals terminal.

Airport road transport services

  • Upon arrival at Ministro Pistarini International Airport, delegation members and other MC11 participants will be provided with transportation to their respective hotels. Information on the service routes and frequency of transfers will be made available closer to the date of the Conference. For more details on courtesy services for delegates, see Chapter 7.
  • Upon their arrival at the airport and during their stay in Buenos Aires, Ministers, Heads of Delegation and special guests will be provided with chauffeur-driven cars, and will receive assistance from liaison officers for activities related to the Conference.

Departure

  • Travellers must arrive at the airport three hours before the scheduled departure of their fl ight. Queues at check-in, security control, baggage inspection and passport control can delay transit time to the departure terminal.

Passport control, immigration, luggage and customs

  • It is important to underscore that delegation members will receive special assistance when completing passport control, immigration, customs, and baggage reclaim procedures. The Immigration Department has passport control stations at various entry and exit points at Ministro Pistarini International airport to ensure that passengers’ travel documents are in order.

Check In

  • Certain airlines provide an online check-in option. Please verify with your air carrier whether this facility is available.
  • Certain passengers may use self-service kiosks to check in and print their boarding passes.
  • Departure halls have clearly marked check-in counters. Air carrier and Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 ground sta“ are at hand to guide participants through the boarding procedures and direct them to immigration counters.
  • In the check-in area, participants may use the baggage weighing, wrapping and packing services. Participants leaving the country can also buy souvenirs, including perfumes, jewellery, clothing and Argentine craft items, as well as alcohol, tobacco and electronic devices, at the duty-free shops.

Baggage and item restrictions

  • The airlines operating in Argentina strictly enforce baggage size and weight limitations. All participants are therefore requested to familiarize themselves with their airline weight and carry-on restrictions prior to travelling in order to avoid extra fees or complications.
  • In accordance with international practices and to ensure airline security, some articles and substances cannot be carried on board. The amount of liquid in hand luggage (such as toiletries) is restricted to 100 millilitres or less (broadly equivalent to 100 grams or less). The containers must be carried in a transparent, re-sealable plastic bag.
  • Only one bag is allowed for each passenger, with exceptions for persons who may carry the bag(s) of the people in their care, including children.

Terminals

Ministro Pistarini International Airport has three passenger terminals (A, B and C) and one freight terminal (TCA).

  • Terminal A
Inaugurated in 2000 and with a surface area of 56,000 m2, Terminal A is used by almost all of the international airlines operating in the airport. It is the most complete and varied of the three airport terminals, with several restaurants, bars, cafés, a pharmacy, souvenir shops, bookshops, free Wi-Fi, a passport renewal service, a post o—ce and kiosks, among other facilities.
All airlines not belonging to SkyTeam Airline Alliance operate from Terminal A.
  • New Terminal B
The new Terminal B is currently in the final stages of construction, and is partially open for international departures.
  • Terminal C
Terminal C is used by Aerolíneas Argentinas, Austral Líneas Aéreas and LATAM Argentina (domestic flights only) for the arrival and departure of domestic flights, and the departure of international flights. It is also used for the departure of flights by SkyTeam Airline Alliance (Alitalia, Air France, Delta Air Lines and KLM), except Air Europa and Aeroméxico.
Terminal C opened in 2011 and covers an area of 21,000 m2. It has eight jet bridges, 2,500 parking spaces, baggage carousels, 12 immigration counters, more than 600 seats in the departure lounge, a new bridge over the Ricchieri motorway (with exclusive access to the freight terminal), and a modern fire and rescue system.
It should be noted that all international arrivals at Ezeiza International Airport are currently handled in Terminal A.

Private charter flights

  • Participants arriving or leaving on private planes or charter flights may use the ground-handling services provided by charter companies at Ministro Pistarini International Airport. The services provided may vary from one company to another, and it is necessary to confirm all details with the charter company in question prior to departure.
Information regarding transport and other courtesy services for authorities and delegations attending the Eleventh Ministerial Conference is contained in the Note to Delegations circulated as WT/MIN(17)/INF/4/Rev.1.
